I am super excited to have found this group! I am in the middle of planing my DIY wedding! I can't wait to read all your great ideas and share mine along the way! I was starting to think maybe I was the only person planning a wedding on a budget! Thanks for making this group!

I totally had a DIY wedding, it was spectacular and super cheap. My husband made flower centerpieces for our tables by bending wire (one flower per table but each was different) and we also gave them as gifts to special people at the end of the reception, everyone was amazed. They took a lot of time but we started early and just did like one a week: a tiger lily, a rose, a tulip, etc. Some were much more simple than others. and we just made a circle out of wire as a base so they'd all stand up by themselves (no vases needed either). Oh, here's the best part, since it was wire, we also used them to hold the table numbers! And to work it all in, my bouquet was 4 gerber daisys (the big ones) with some 24k gold mesh flowers I actually found in a sculpture thing on sale from the W hotels website. I cut off a few (sorry to the designer) and stuck them in my bouquet. It was totally original, gorgeous, and most of my flowers will never wilt. I'm a wealth of ideas and happy to help!

I run a restaurant and haven't had time to get back into my cakes, but will find the time with enough notice to help anyone that needs a wedding cake that doesn't break your bank. I have tons of pictures and can do almost anything.

Flowers can really take a good chunk of a wedding budget. With a little time and a little more effort, you can have beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, and floral dcor for less than $400. Rose petals for the aisle, tables, and other dcor are on ebay in most every color imaginable. Find a photo in a magazine or online bouquets. Google wholesale flowers. Flowers are delivered to your door step with simple care instructions. Cut the stems to the appropriate length. If the stems are too thick for your bouquet, cut the stems about 2 inches from the flower and insert popsicle sticks. Wrap from the top of the stem down to the bottom of the stick with green floral tape. Only do this to the flowers that will be inside the bouquet. Leave stems on all the flowers that will be exposed - the outer flowers. Once you've arranged the bouquet (going by the picture), wrap the stems together with green floral tape. You can use left overs for pew markers, reception table dcor, even cake decor.

I got engaged to the man of my dreams over 10 years ago. I was young and admittedly stupid. Needless to say, things didn't work out so well and 5 months later we seperate...
